Photo Requirment
Because camp includes YW from multiple stakes, we are collecting youth photos to help leaders correctly identify each camper and ensure safety and proper supervision.
If you did not submit a photo during registration, please email a clear, forward-facing headshot (similar to a passport photo) to eve2627@gmail.com by April 18th. (Participants should wear glasses if they will wear them at camp.)
If the photo is not appropriate, you will be contacted to submit another. Campers will not be admitted without an approved photo.
No Cell Phones
-
Please do NOT bring your phone to camp, including YCLs.
ā
-
Campers are welcome to bring a digital camera, watch, and/or alarm clock. However, our camp leaders will be taking and sharing photos, keeping everyone on schedule, and providing wake-up calls as needed. Additionally, we’ll provide shared digital cameras for girls who wish to take their own photos. These will be available online after camp for anyone who wishes to download them.
ā
-
All leaders will have phones with them for safety and communication. We will also have walkie talkies available for youth to communicate with leaders within camp.
ā
-
If campers need to call home, a phone will be available in the nurse’s lodge. YW should NOT ask to borrow their level leaders phone.ā
ā
-
If a camper brings a cell phone to camp, it will be placed in a lock box for safekeeping. Please note, we are not responsible for theft or loss since phones are requested not to be brought to camp.ā
ā
-
Parents, thank you for supporting us with this important policy!
Medication Policy
According to Church policy, youth are NOT allowed to keep medications in their cabins. This includes non-prescription medications such as Tylenol (acetaminophen), Advil (ibuprofen), Benadryl, supplements, etc.āā
ā
All medications must be stored and administered by our camp nurse. If your child takes prescription medication, a physician’s note (sometimes called a "camp form") and the original prescription bottle are required. Please email the physician's note to jlnaffin@hotmail.com no later than April 18th.
ā
The physician's note must contain:
1 - Camper Name
2 - Medication Name
3 - Dosage
4 - Administration Route (e.g. oral, eye drops, etc.)
5 - Schedule (time of day/frequency)
6 - Physicians signature
Food Allergies & Snacks
Our camp is NUT-FREE!
We have multiple Young Women with life-threatening nut allergies. Do NOT bring snacks that are labeled "contains nuts," "may contain nuts," or "are processed in a facility that also processes nuts."
ā
We’ll have plenty of food, snacks, and treats throughout the week, so we discourage bringing snacks from home—these can attract unwanted wildlife into sleeping areas.
ā
We’ll have an "allergy specialist" at camp to help accommodate any food allergies noted on your registration form. In addition, we’ll be providing lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian options as needed. If you’d like to discuss a food allergy, intolerance, or dietary concern, please contact us.
Dress Code
For your safety and comfort, we have a dress code at camp:
ā
-
Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
ā
-
Shorts and skirts must be modest.
ā
-
Shirts must cover the stomach, back, shoulders, and chest.
ā
-
No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or tube tops.
ā
-
Swimsuits should not be strapless, have cutouts, or use see-through fabrics; tankinis must keep the stomach covered even when arms are raised. Swimsuits should only be worn at the waterfront during approved swim times with lifeguards present.
ā
These guidelines help everyone feel comfortable as we follow the standards in the FSY Guide and are also important for protecting you from ticks, bug bites, sun exposure, and the elements — we’re spending the week in the great outdoors!
