NSS Young Women Camp 2026
Frequently Asked Questions
We strongly request that your child arrives and departs camp at the schedule times. If your child does need special arrangements for arrival or pick up, please indicate the dates/times in your registration.
Late arrivals or early departures must be pre-authorized (using the registration form) with a camp director prior to camp. Except for emergencies, we cannot make scheduling adjustments once camp has started.
Please indicate on the camp registration form any food allergies, intolerances, eating disorders, or disordered eating concerns so we can plan appropriately and support your child’s needs.
The camp kitchen and facilities are peanut- and tree-nut-free. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate additional food allergies (such as gluten or dairy) and dietary needs or intolerances (such as vegetarian or vegan diets). Our staff will work with families prior to camp to ensure appropriate food options are available.
While staff are trained in safe food-handling practices, please note that the kitchen is a mixed-use environment, and cross-contamination cannot be completely eliminated.
If your child has an eating disorder or is experiencing disordered eating, it is essential that they are able to eat and drink sufficiently to maintain their health in a hot and physically active camp environment. Because we do not have on-site medical staff equipped to manage situations where a camper is not eating adequately, we may need to arrange for early departure if health or safety becomes a concern.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive experience for every camper, and clear communication before camp helps us do that successfully.
Please contact a camp director prior to camp to discuss your child’s specific needs or disability. The more information you are able to share with us in advance, the better we can plan appropriate accommodations and provide support.
Our goal is to create a positive, safe, and meaningful camp experience for your child and for all campers. Open communication helps us prepare to meet individual needs as effectively as possible.
For the safety of all campers and in accordance with camp policy, all medications — including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and supplements — must be stored and administered by our nursing staff. Campers are not permitted to keep medications in their cabins.
All medications must be checked in with the nursing staff upon arrival at camp.
If your child will need medication during the week, we require a physician’s note or completed camp medication form in advance. This allows our nurses adequate time to review instructions and follow up with any questions to ensure medications are administered safely and correctly.
Please note the following requirements:
• All medications must be brought in the original, labeled pharmacy container.
• Pill organizers or pill boxes are not permitted, as medications must be clearly identified for proper dispensing.
The completed form must be submitted by Sunday, May 31st, and must include:
• Camper (Young Woman) name
• Medication name
• Dosage
• Administration route (e.g., oral, eye drops)
• Schedule (time(s) of day and specific day(s) medication is given)
• Physician’s signature
Please email a copy of the completed form to jlnaffin@gmail.com (mailto:jlnaffin@gmail.com)s(mailto:jlnaffin@gmail.by)o our nursing staff can prepare appropriately.
Our goal is to ensure every camper’s health and safety while allowing them to fully participate in the camp experience.
Camp is designed to be a time for young women to unplug from daily distractions, connect with nature, build friendships, and fully engage in the camp experience. Limiting phone use helps create a more positive and inclusive environment and reduces the risk of sharing or accessing inappropriate content.
We ask parents and families to support this policy so all campers can benefit from a safe, focused, and meaningful experience together.
If your child requires access to a phone for medical or specific health-related reasons, please contact the camp director prior to camp so appropriate arrangements can be made.
The cost to attend camp is $180 per person. In some cases, part of this fee may be subsidized through your ward’s Young Women fundraiser.
For details about your final cost and how to submit payment, please contact your ward Young Women presidency, as payment arrangements are handled at the ward level.
