NSS Young Women Camp 2026
YW Camp Standards
Conduct at Church Activities
Church events and activities can be fun, uplifting, and spiritually strengthening for everyone who attends. To reach these aims, all participants are invited to commit to follow the principles taught in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices. When you do, the experience will be better for everyone. ā
ā
Parents and participants should understand that participation in YW Camp is not a right but a privilege that can be revoked if participants behave inappropriately or if they pose a risk to themselves or others.
āā
Crimes and harmful or destructive incidents or pranks may be reported to local authorities, who will respond according to local law. Leaders follow the direction of these authorities.
1 - Live Gospel Standards
I will strive to follow Jesus Christ and live the principles taught in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide to Making Choices.
2 - Maintain Moral Standards
I will honor the law of chastity by choosing conversations, media, and behavior that invite the Spirit. I will sleep in my own bed and refrain from viewing, possessing, or distributing pornography in any form.
3 - Follow the Word of Wisdom
I will live the Word of Wisdom and refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, illegal drugs, or other harmful substances, including prescription medications that are not my own.
ā
All medications, including over-the-counter medicines and vitamins, will be in original containers and checked in with the camp nurse. I will use medications as prescribed.
ā
I will care for my health by practicing good hygiene, eating well, staying hydrated, observing curfew at 10:30 pm, and respecting others’ need for sleep.
4 - Create a Safe and Respectful Environment
I will treat others with Christlike kindness and avoid behavior that could harm someone physically, emotionally, or spiritually: including pranks of any kind, bullying, gossiping, etc.
ā
I will leave weapons or dangerous items at home unless specifically authorized for a supervised camp activity.
5 - Respect Property and Belongings
I will respect Zion’s Camp and the property of others and will refrain from theft, graffiti, carving, vandalism, or defacing others' or Zion’s Camp property.
ā
I will use the waterfront only during scheduled times with lifeguards present and enter the kitchen only with permission from a leader.
ā
I will keep my cabin and personal space tidy, avoid bringing food into cabins or bathrooms, and complete my assigned chores to help care for the camp.
6 - Participate Fully in the Camp Experience
I will use the buddy system at all times.
ā
I will follow the schedule, arrive on time and participate in devotionals, activities, assignments, and events with a positive attitude.
ā
I will follow camp check-in and check-out procedures and keep leaders informed of my whereabouts.
7 - Dress Modestly and Camp Appropriate
I will dress modestly and appropriately for the environment so I can participate comfortably and respectfully in camp activities.
ā
I will bring modest shorts or skirts and shirts that cover the stomach, back, chest, and shoulders.
ā
I will wear a modest swimsuit that is not strapless and does not have cutouts or sheer inserts. The stomach must remain covered even when arms are raised. Swimsuits must be covered when outside the waterfront area.
8 - Unplug and Be Present
Camp is a time to connect with the Lord and with each other. I will leave phones and personal electronics at home. Any devices brought will be stored by the camp director until the end of camp. Camp is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of any devices.
